One more reason I don't trust the current crop of politicians. It seems there are some banks that want to return TARP money but the Government just ain't gonna have it. No one on the out side really understands just why but one reason could be that it's all about control. Think about it, many banks were coerced into taking TARP money and now that they have, they are subject to all sorts of crazy demands on how they conduct their business.
Personally I don't understand how a lender, in this case the federal government, can refuse repayment of a loan. It sounds like something a loan shark or a mobster might do to work you over for a little bit extra. Chicago politics? Aren't these guys supposed to be protecting the public? Instead it looks like they're running a protection racket.

Mark Sanford, Governor, South Carolina in a peice for the Wall Street Journal expressed reservations about stimulus money offered to the states. Saying, "When you're in a hole, the first order of business is stop digging. South Carolina is in a hole, and it's not a shallow one."
He's looking for ways to diminish the already substantial debt his state faces. Many feel this is the needed action to fix the mess we're in. When a household is under water deep in debt who believes another loan would provide relief?
It gets even better after all the talk about change you can believe in and a new tone I think we can look forward to a change in tone alright.
Governor Sanford writes "Last week I reached out to the president, asking for a federal waiver from restrictions on stimulus money. I got a most unusual response. Before I even received an acknowledgment of the request from the White House, I got word that the Democratic National Committee was launching campaign-style TV attack-ads against me for making it."
Sounds like a new tone to me. Take a few minutes click the link below to read the article.
I found a great article on the history of St. Patrick's day. It's amazing how little the truth has to do with the day we celebrate in the United States. Turns out St. Patrick wasn't even Irish but English instead. He got credit for ridding Ireland of snakes but most experts agree that Ireland never had indigenous snakes.

On St. Patrick's Day—Tuesday, March 17—millions of people will don green and celebrate the Irish in, and around, them with parades, good cheer, and perhaps a pint of beer.
But few St. Patrick's Day revelers have a clue about St. Patrick, the man, according to the author of St. Patrick of Ireland: A Biography.
"The modern celebration of St. Patrick's Day really has almost nothing to do with.., more
It's Saturday afternoon and the internet is all a buzz with www.MyHusbandNeedsaJob.com. Robin Stearns 28 decided to create a website to get the word out about her husband Mike's job search. Mike, a business school grad with a masters in business and few good projects under his belt, can't seem to find work.
So Robin took matters into her own hands, took the initiative, figured out how to put up a website, and got her husband some national recognition. This is no small feat. I know internet marketers who would give a finger to do what she did on a similar scale. But I wonder why she didn't make it look more like his idea because if I'm a business looking for talent I have a question; Is Robin for hire?
The Honda Scoot Coupe? It's a three wheeled motorcycle that looks like a car. It seats 2, is street legal and gets 70 miles per gallon. I wouldn't want to take it out on the interstate but around town, what a blast!
Well it definitely won't replace your car but Honda obviously thinks there is a market and I would agree. Plus it has that go-cart appeal that everyone who was once a child knows about. I guess only time will tell but if the economy keep going south the road may be full of Scoot Coupes.
